Serrano, Rodrigo Ortiz
Rodrigo Ortiz Serrano (Cuenca, 1993) is a composer and works as Principal Horn of the Munich Radio Orchestra since 2023. He studied horn at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Marie-Luise Neunecker and composition at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen with Günter Steinke. His works have been performed in concert halls from Spain, France, Germany and Austria, including the Sala Mozart of the Auditorio de Zaragoza, the Auditorio Nacional de España in Madrid and the chamber music cycle of the Munich Radio Orchestra. He has received commissions from institutions such as INAEM, JONDE and Ensemble Perspektive, and he has been awarded the Plural Ensembles Young Composers Competition and the Composition Prize of the Colegio de España in Paris. As a horn player he has collaborated with leading European orchestras, among them the Munich Philharmonic, the Bavarian State Opera and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
